Easy cuttings and butterfly conservation

Propagation of flora can easily be achieved by anyone with a little spare time, some soil and a plant pot.

Buddleia is on of the easiest plants to take cuttings from and encourages a variety of wildlife, one example is Butterflies – hence the common name of Butterfly Bush.

Here is my easy method for taking cuttings.

  1. Snip off a stem
  2. Remove all but top two leaves (to six inches from the bottom of stem)
  3. Push the cutting into some loose soil
  4. Water at regular intervals
  5. Enjoy next summer – the Butterflies will
